IE(D)@RCA 21 Aug 2012. As of August 2012, Information Environments (IE) officially ceased operating as a research group at the University of the Arts London. This site serves as an archive of past events, research projects and workshops undertaken by staff and students who were part of the IE team.

From September 2012, IE will continue as an independent collective led by researchers currently based at the Royal College of Art. Our intention is to continue to develop innovative research spanning the digital divide and to further our understanding of the informational city. We are specifically interested in working at the intersection of social science and design research methods. Find out more here, or contact Prof Teal Triggs or Dr Kevin Walker.

IE Blog 10 Mar 2012. IE has found a new environment! The existing website is being archived (December 2011) with the launch of a new site coming soon. PhD Design Forum 2011/12 Research Network for Information Environments and Faculty of Design, LCC.
This once-a-term, cross-University seminar is intended to provide a forum for Research Degrees and MA/MRes students and supervisors working in design and related fields. These lunchtime seminars aim to develop a better understanding of design thinking, processes and methods. Guest researchers and PhD students are invited to use the forum as a prompt for gaining constructive feedback on issues or approaches encountered in their own research practices. The PhD Student Forum has become a well-established seminar series in the University with guests hailing from Australia, USA and the UK.

Seminars take place at the London College of Communication. Please check for up to date information and room locations on Blackboard and www.informationenvironments.org.uk
